We’re working with a rapidly growing international business operating in the renewable energy and infrastructure sector who is looking to appoint an Associate Accountant to support the UK and wider European finance operations.
This is a brilliant opportunity to join a purpose-led organisation that’s playing a key role in driving clean energy projects across multiple markets in Europe. You’ll gain broad exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency finance operations, working closely with regional teams to ensure the smooth running of core accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process purchase invoices and manage weekly payment runs for UK entities
- Prepare and review bank reconciliations across UK and European subsidiaries
- Clean and manage vendor data and reconciliations
- Support month-end close processes: prepayments, fixed assets, journals
- Coordinate payroll processes and post monthly payroll journals
- Prepare and submit UK VAT returns, respond to HMRC queries
- Raise and track sales invoices; support cash collection
- Assist with audit preparation and implement improved financial controls
- Contribute to ongoing system and process improvements across the group
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Strong understanding of transactional accounting and bookkeeping
- Experience in multi-company, multi-currency environments
- Familiar with general ledger, subledger, and reconciliation processes
- Previous exposure to payroll and VAT handling in the UK
- Experience using accounting systems; familiarity with Priority software is advantageous
- Prior experience in the renewable energy, infrastructure, or project-driven sectors is a plus
