VTA Recruitment is recruiting a Transport Fleet Compliance Officer on behalf of our client based in Southport. They provide reliable and responsible waste management solutions for materials including liquids, solids, fuels and chemicals, as well as delivering a range of supporting services. They are fully accredited, offer nationwide coverage, and provide solutions across the following four key areas: Automotive, Marine, Chemical, Industrial & Manufacturing. Benefits: Company pension On-site parking Monday to Friday Full time – permanent Required Skills and Experience: * Proven experience in Transport Fleet Administration and Compliance. * Knowledge of UK transport regulations, including tachograph and WTD compliance. * Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills. * Attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in compliance records. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transport management systems. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. * Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. * Proactive and solution-oriented approach to compliance challenges. * High level of integrity and professionalism. * Collaborative team player who can also work independently * Experience in using SAGE 200 would be advantageous but not necessary. * A Transport Management CPC would be advantageous Responsibilities: * Coordinate with daily transport operations to ensure that all maintenance bookings are scheduled and planned in accordance with the weekly report and are achievable. * Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulations, including the maintenance of transport documentation such as driver hours, defect reporting, and tachographs in line with CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) requirements. * Act as the main point of contact for drivers, providing them with support and information regarding maintenance schedules, breakdown assistance and compliance queries. * Monitor and arrange vehicle inspections, servicing, and repairs to ensure the fleet is roadworthy and compliant with legal standards. * Maintain accurate records and generate regular reports on fleet performance, fuel usage, and transport costs to support senior management. * Ensure that all transport activities adhere to company health and safety policies, and proactively identify and report any risks or issues. * Oversee and analyse driver tachograph data, ensuring compliance with driving hours regulations and taking appropriate action where necessary. * Report on all accidents to the business and liaise with insurance brokers, 3rd party claimants and repair agents to make the correct decisions for the business. * Create PO numbers for all maintenance spend. * Carry out investigations with drivers on any accidents, spillages etc to assist the Transport Manager with any disciplinary requirements. * Liaise with internal teams and external customers to provide accurate updates on delivery schedules and address any issues that may arise.
