Volunteer Peer Support Volunteer with Lived Experience of Addiction | RehabitJoin us to apply for the Volunteer Peer Support Volunteer with Lived Experience of Addiction | Rehabit role at Rehabit UK.Rehabit is seeking volunteers with lived experience of addiction/substance abuse to join our team in supporting individuals struggling with drugs and alcohol.What difference will you make?Your role will assist people dealing with addiction who are often overlooked or stuck in the system, providing much-needed support, guidance, and counselling.What are we looking for?Lived experience of addiction and peer support or work with addicts/substance abusersMinimum three years’ experience advising, mentoring, or advocatingKnowledge of the social care sectorKey SkillsAdvice-giving and guidanceConfident communication with unfamiliar individualsCoaching or mentoringActive listening and reflectionEmpathy and openness about personal recovery storyInterpersonal and communication skillsFlexibility and ability to work independentlyConfidence working with diverse backgroundsWhat will you be doing?Assist individuals in early recovery or ready for recovery, primarily through two roles:First point of contact for new clients awaiting counselling, helping them navigate support options.Participate in community drop-in sessions at partner locations such as community centres, food banks, and residential centres, mainly in Islington, with potential coverage in Haringey, Camden, Barnet, and Enfield.The goal is to support clients into our counselling services or connect them with 12-step fellowships if appropriate. The role involves a low volume of clients, focusing on those who are stuck or falling through cracks, with flexibility to adapt to ebbs and flows.Volunteers need a DBS check (or hold one on the Update Service) and will undergo mandatory training, including peer support coaching and charity orientation sessions.Additional InformationLocation: Mainly Islington, with coverage in nearby boroughs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
