Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant

Location: Shoreditch

Salary: 35,000 (DOE could go higher)

Reports to: Senior Management Accountant/Finance Controller

Job Summary:

The Assistant Management Accountant will support the finance team in providing accurate and timely financial information to assist with the management and decision-making process of the business. The role involves assisting with month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis while ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of financial data.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Help with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, including gathering data and preparing reports.
  • Cost Tracking: Assist in monitoring costs and variances, ensuring alignment with budgeted figures.
  • Cash Flow: Help with cash flow forecasting and support the management of cash inflows and outflows.
  • Account Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and updating financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, billing to customers.
  • Ad hoc tasks: Undertake ad hoc projects and analysis as required by senior finance staff.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Accounting qualification or Studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or AAT) is a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an accounting or finance role up to 2 years, such as an internship or entry-level accounting position, is desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with accounting software, advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, Graphs).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse financial data.
  • Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Teamwork: A team player who is willing to learn and contribute to the finance department\’s goals.
