Your part in our mission
As public sector organisations grapple with increasingly complex technology landscapes, the need for intelligent, scalable data architecture has never been greater. Your purpose is to help our clients unlock the full potential of their data by designing and implementing architectures that enable secure, efficient, and future-ready solutions. From large-scale digital transformation to sensitive national programmes, the work you do will have a direct impact on the services people rely on across the UK.
You’ll also shape Squarcle’s internal capabilities too – playing a key role in the development of our own digital tools, and helping us stay at the forefront of consulting, data, and design.
Our structure
At Squarcle, we work in a matrix structure designed to support your growth and success. You’ll have a Performance Manager to guide your career development, an Engagement Manager to support your day-to-day project work, and a Capability Lead to ensure best practice across tools, people, and processes. This role sits within our Digital Capability, where you’ll work closely with Kev, our Head of Technology Services, and Alex, our Digital Transformation MD. Your Performance Manager and project assignment will be confirmed once your first engagement is agreed.
This is what you’ll be doing
You’ll be joining us as we build momentum. This means there’s room for people to shape how we grow, not just keep up with it. We know people are the secret to our success and so the level of this role will come down to the successful candidate. You can expect:
- Design scalable, secure data architectures for real-time and batch processing
- Define data models, schemas, API integrations, and support end-to-end solution architecture
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate business needs into robust, future-proof technical solutions
- Lead on data governance, interoperability, and security best practices
- Work with Microsoft Azure, AWS, and other cloud platforms to architect high-performing solutions
- Oversee technical delivery while mentoring junior colleagues and championing architectural standards
- Guide and support the integration of systems across diverse public sector environments
- Ensure compliance with data protection and government security standards
Where you’ll be stretched (and thrive):
- We’re growing fast: That means there isn’t always a playbook. You’ll need to be proactive, resourceful, and ready to make things happen
- We’re a multifaceted team: You’ll often wear multiple hats. Sometimes you’ll be doing work outside your job title – from rolling up your sleeves to supporting colleagues when priorities shift
- Consulting isn’t always smooth sailing: Client needs evolve, projects pivot, and ambiguity is part of the job. You’ll need to be adaptable, calm under pressure, and comfortable navigating change
We think you’ll love
- A culture that’s truly people-first: We’re big believers in autonomy, trust, and bringing your whole self to work. You’ll join a close-knit, collaborative team where everyone’s voice matters. No egos, no bureaucracy, just brilliant people doing meaningful work together
- Work that matters: You’ll partner with strategic clients on projects that are critical to the country – from transforming how data is used in public services to supporting missions of national importance
- Learn fast, grow faster: You won’t just deliver — you’ll develop. From certifications and cross-functional exposure to technical coaching and stretch assignments, we invest in your growth so you can lead with confidence and impact
This isn’t just another consulting role. It’s a chance to be part of something growing, ambitious, and meaningful.
The skills you’ll need to succeed in this role
- You’ll have deep experience in data architecture, modelling, and integration
- You’ll be highly proficient in Azure, with certification or equivalent experience
- You’ll bring expertise in APIs, data governance, and security best practices
- You’ll be comfortable consulting with clients, translating needs into scalable technical solutions
- You’ll be a confident communicator, equally comfortable with technical and non-technical audiences
How We’ll Assess Your Skills
Our interview process for this role will involve three steps:
Step 1: Meet with our Recruitment Manager, Corina. She’ll introduce you to Squarcle, the role, and answer any questions you may have about us. We’ll be assessing some basic skills for the role and finding out more about your background.
Step 2: Meet with our team. You\’ll meet with key stakeholders to tell us more about your skills and experience for the role.
What we offer
We believe great work deserves great rewards. Here’s what you can expect as part of the team:
- Generous leave package
- 26 days of annual leave (including your birthday!) plus UK bank holidays — increasing to 27 days after three years, and 28 after seven years
- You’ll also get five extra days for your five and 10 year anniversaries
- Additional leave for members of the Reserve Forces and CFAV.
- Private medical insurance
- Provided once you’ve completed your probation.
- Recognition and rewards
- £1,000 referral bonus for successful hires
- Performance related awards
- Milestone and life-event hampers to celebrate life’s big moments
- Development & learning
- Annual training week abroad
- Funding for qualifications that benefit both you and the business
- Travel & wellbeing
- Cycle to work scheme
- Discounted travel through funded railcards
We review our benefits regularly to ensure they stay competitive and meaningful – so this list may evolve as we grow.
