Health and Safety Manager – Leading Civil/Structures specialist contractor Location: London, UK Salary: £60k (or day rate) Scope: Cut & carve, demolition, structural alterations, RC works Join this market-leading specialist engineering contractor based in London, who deliver high-profile early stage construction works across the capital and beyond. Projects tend to be largely in central London (zone one) with complex logistical and technical challenges, ranging from £10m up to £50m in project value. Due to growth, they\’re seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join their safety team. This is a pivotal role, ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of the workforce, clients, and stakeholders across multiple projects. You\’ll lead the implementation of best-practice safety procedures, ensure compliance with UK regulations, and foster a strong, proactive safety culture across all operational levels. Overview * Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures * Carry out regular site inspections and audits * Lead incident investigations and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken * Provide training, guidance, and support to site teams and management * Liaise with external bodies and ensure compliance with relevant legislation (CDM, HSE, etc.) * Produce clear, concise reports for internal and external stakeholders Requirements * NEBOSH Construction or equivalent (essential) * Chartered or working towards Chartered status with IOSH (preferred) * Minimum 5 years\’ experience in a health and safety role with a contractor, ideally on London sites * In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety regulations * Strong communication and leadership skills * Ability to influence and drive a safety-first culture on-site Superb opportunity to join a successful, busy contractor working on landmark London projects
