Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead our diverse and growing services in Bradford.
About Us
We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.
Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.
As Operations Manager, you will play a leading role in driving Centrepoint’s vision by running effective, needs-led services, building strong local relationships with commissioners and ultimately achieving positive outcomes for young people. Our Bradford services include a range of supported accommodation and floating support projects for vulnerable young people, including care leavers and those at risk of homelessness. This is a key leadership role focused on driving service quality, supporting cultural change and improving outcomes. Bradford is a dynamic and complex patch requiring a leader who can confidently manage multiple sites, address performance challenges, and build high-performing, inclusive teams.
About You
We’re looking for someone who can bring the following:
- Proven experience of managing supported housing or similar services across multiple sites
- A strong track record of tackling underperformance and leading teams through change
- Confident people management skills, with the ability to build trust and hold staff accountable
- High emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience of driving service improvements and embedding a performance-led culture
- A calm, decisive approach to managing risk, safeguarding, and complex staffing issues
- Ability to work strategically and operationally — balancing long-term goals with day-to-day demands
- Skilled in budget management, performance reporting and working to contractual KPIs
- Familiarity with the challenges faced by vulnerable young people, especially care leavers and those at risk of homelessness
- Alignment with Centrepoint’s values of integrity, energy, humility, entrepreneurship, accountability, and focus
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Lead a number of dispersed services, providing strong and effective leadership and development for all staff
- Build effective and productive working relationships with commissioners and other stakeholders across the Bradford area
- Oversee the quality and performance of services, driving improvements and identifying new business opportunities
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and contractual obligations, maintaining a strong safeguarding culture
- Foster a values-led, inclusive and performance-driven environment where staff and young people can thrive
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and staff development, supporting managers to deliver high-quality outcomes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with operational leadership experience and a passion for making a difference to use their skills to help end youth homelessness in Bradford.
Why join Centrepoint?
In return for your efforts you’ll receive a competitive salary, excellent training and development, and a host of staff benefits including:
- 25 days of annual leave per year, rising by one day per year to a maximum of 27 days
- Healthcare cash plan (Cover the costs of a wide range of medical treatment including Dental, Optical, Complementary and Alternative therapies).
- Private Medical insurance
- Income protection
- Employer pension contributions of 5%
- Access to Cycle 2 Work loan scheme
- An interest-free travel loan
At Centrepoint we challenge the discrimination within society that contributes to youth homelessness, and we are just as committed to fairness and equality within Centrepoint itself. We are passionate about ensuring all of our colleagues are made to feel included in the work we do and that we value the rich diversity within the organization.
We are an equal opportunities employer and we welcome applications regardless of sex, gender, race, age, belief in any religion and none, gender identity, ethnic origin, class, sexuality, nationality, appearance, unrelated criminal activities, disability, responsibility for dependents, part time or shift workers, being HIV positive or living with AIDS, lived experience of homelessness or using young people’s services and any other matter which causes a person to be treated with injustice.
