Conrad Consulting is proud to be working with a leading construction and engineering organisation to offer an exciting contract opportunity for an experienced Design Manager – Mechanical. This is a 3 to 6-month contract role, ideal for a technically strong professional looking to make an immediate impact on complex building services and infrastructure projects.

As Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing, reviewing, and coordinating mechanical design information across all project phases. You will ensure design outputs are compliant with contractual obligations and align with key considerations such as buildability, safety, maintenance, programme, and technical performance.

You will play a senior role within the Design Job Family and Technical Function, contributing to technical assurance from early-stage engagement through to project delivery.

Qualifications and Experience
* Chartered membership with a recognised professional body (CIBSE, IMechE, ICE, CIOB, RIBA)
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline
* Equivalent construction-related qualifications with strong design experience considered

Preferred Experience:
* Minimum 5 years\’ experience in a design management or mechanical services leadership role
* Full lifecycle experience managing MEP design – from concept through to handover
* Strong knowledge of procurement routes and multi-sector project exposure
* Familiarity with CDM regulations, BIM workflows, and design collaboration platforms
