Production Operative – Machine Operator / Ticket Machine Operative (Meat Production) **IMMEDIATE START** Location: Preston Salary: £12.30 per hour Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Shifts: 07:00 – 15:30, 5 days from 6 (Monday – Saturday rota) We are currently recruiting experienced Production Operatives to join our fast-paced meat manufacturing team in Preston. This role is ideal for individuals with meat experience, a background as a butcher, or experience operating production machinery and ticket machines in a food production environment. As a Production Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring products are processed, labelled, and packed accurately and efficiently. The role involves working with machinery, maintaining traceability records, and upholding high food safety standards. Key Responsibilities: * Operate various types of production machinery, including ticket machines, weighing machines, and heat sealers. * Print and apply accurate tickets, labels, and traceability information to meat products. * Complete digital records on an iPad—good English speaking, reading, and writing skills are essential. * Ensure consistent product quality while working in a chilled environment (5°C). * Follow health & safety procedures, hygiene standards, and manual handling practices (lifting up to 25kg). * Support the wider team to achieve daily production and performance targets. Key Requirements: * Previous experience operating machinery or ticket machines in a production operative role. * Meat experience or butchery knowledge is highly desirable but not essential. * Strong English language skills for reading instructions, completing documentation, and working with digital systems. * Physically fit, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. * Flexibility to work Monday to Saturday on a rota basis.
