The role of a MEP Revit Technician, with 3+ years’ experience, to join our multi-disciplinary organisation based in the London office. As a technician, you will be responsible for creating and managing drawing packages and building information models (BIM) using Autodesk Revit software. Your primary role will be to produce accurate and detailed drawings and models of mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) systems that can be used for RIBA stages 2 to 6, Concept through detailed design, construction and handover purposes. You will work closely with our team of Engineers to ensure that the drawing packages accurately reflects the design intent and meets all relevant industry standards and codes.

  • Produce high quality drawing packages including public health layouts, apartment M&E services, communal area coordination, ventilation layouts and associated builders works for all above services.

  • Conversion of 2D drawings into clash-free 3D Revit models taking into consideration the unique features of each system, including access, maintenance, and buildability.

  • Creation of COBie-Compliant Revit families as required.

  • Creation of COBie.

  • Assist in the development of the company’s BIM library.

  • Ensuring accurate referencing of drawings, including updating revision statuses.

  • Utilise your understanding of Revit MEP functionality including Revit templates, modelling systems, creating, and working with schedules and creating Sheets.

  • Implement best practice procedures as a Revit Technician.

The Person

The Revit Technician role will be to produce 3D MEP coordinated Models and drawings up to construction level for a variety of projects from small surveys, feasibilities to large scale housing, and commercial projects and will be able to assist engineers attending project coordination meetings with the design team and client., The Practice is keen to assist individuals in developing work related professional interests. The Practice takes training seriously, providing practical and financial assistance to all personnel.

The role is suited to a candidate who is ambitious, self-motivated and a team player. The ideal candidate will be someone who can produce models and drawings using engineer’s red pen mark-ups or design and draw from an engineer’s brief.

  • Extensive experience using Revit MEP with proven experience, a minimum of 3 years is required.

  • Good knowledge of building MEP services.

  • An understanding of BIM is desirable although not essential.

  • Competent setting up MEP models with appropriate sheets and worksheets.

  • Able to amend and produce Revit families for the in-house library.

  • To assist in the production of 2D end sheets and schematic drawings.

  • Strong design coordination skills not only within MEP services, but architectural and structural services. Competent in clash detection preferred.

  • Good commercial awareness

  • Experience and knowledge of current Building Regulations

  • Knowledge of: CIBSE Guides, CDM Regulations, British Standards

  • Computer Skills: Excel/Word, AutoCAD, REVIT, Navis Works, Dynamo

  • Self-motivated and able to take responsibility.

  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective team

  • Flexible attitude and a willing to develop/self-learn.

  • Able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally, representing the company at project meetings.
