Highbury are working with a Client who design and manufacture high power electrical resistors used in electricity generation, transmission and distribution as well as in the industrial automation, marine, telecoms and rail transit markets. Applications for our products include the filter and neutral earthing for MV and HV systems, the dynamic braking of motors and industrial drives and the load testing of batteries and generators. We supply to large contractors, OEMs and end users throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia. We make significant investments in R&D to deliver innovations that satisfy or anticipate customer needs and generate growth for the business. Working in a fast-paced environment, the role will support the manufacturing process by performing job duties in a safe and efficient manner by operating various machines and tools to provide high quality parts and allow our team to meet scheduled demands. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Hand-assemble parts with the use of bolts, screws, and other fasteners • Use of any hand-held tools that are necessary (e.g., screwdrivers, rivets, wrenches) • Light assembly work • Soldering • Accurate completion of documentation • Entering production data onto a computer • Light and/or repetitive lifting and stock moving • Report any quality control issues to the appropriate department • Ensure good housekeeping within working environment • Responsible for ensuring compliance with Health & Safety Legislation including Company procedures Required Skills: • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Numerate and literate • Committed Team Player • Confident to work on own initiative as necessary • Highly motivated and well organised • Good practical skills • The ability to work quickly and methodically • The ability to concentrate while doing repetitive tasks • The ability to follow instructions • A strong awareness of Health and Safety • Flexible in approach • Experience in using hand and power tools and also specialty tools • Computer literate • Previous experience in a similar role (desirable)
