About the role
To contribute to the financial management of the Leadership Development Initiative (LDI) with primary responsibility for various Country teams’ project financials and shared responsibility for HQ project financials. To assist with any other project that arise and day-to-day finance tasks.
Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of project accounting, including budgeting,
- forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of project costs,
- including labour, materials, and expenses.
- Collaborate with project teams to provide timely and accurate
- Develop and maintain project cost models and budgets.
- Prepare and analyse monthly project financial statements.
- Provide support for internal and external audits.
- Participate in the development and implementation of financial
- policies and procedures.
- Provide up-to-date information on membership
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
Generic Responsibilities:
- To adhere to and comply with FIGO Policies and Procedures.
- To contribute to the work of the department and/or team and FIGO.
- To travel to / attend international meetings and events (and represent FIGO at external meetings and events if required).

Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience in international project finance support, ideally within a Charity / NGO
- Knowledge of international project budget development
- Experience of working both independently and as part of a team, exercising autonomy and personal authority as needed
Skills, Abilities & Attributes:
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Strong communication skills with finance and non-finance staff
- Confident use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Adept at proactive planning and forward thinking
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proven ability to work with a diverse and cross-cultural range of stakeholders
- Flexible and creative problem solver
- Work well a part of a team
- Previous work experience in low-income countries
- Experience working on international health development projects
- Experience building the financial management capacity of small organisations /individuals
