To ensure efficient, cost-effective planning of all production activities, balancing customer demand, inventory targets, and production capacity. The Production Planning Manager is critical in maintaining product availability, minimising waste, and supporting operational excellence in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment. Develop and manage daily, weekly, and long-term production plans to meet sales forecasts and customer orders. Collaborate closely with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Sales teams to align production schedules with demand. Monitor production output and adjust plans to manage bottlenecks, downtime, and capacity issues. Analyse data to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise inventory levels. Maintain planning systems and records, ensuring accurate data for reporting and decision-making. Participate in new product launches, ensuring planning aligns with development timelines and capacity constraints. Contribute to continuous improvement projects across planning and manufacturing processes. Report key planning KPIs and communicate effectively with senior management. Ensure compliance with food safety, quality standards, and health & safety regulations. Key Requirements Degree in Supply Chain Management, Production Management, Food Technology, or similar (desirable). Professional qualifications (e.g. APICS, CIPS) beneficial but not essential. Proven experience in production planning within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and materials management. Experience working with planning or ERP systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly organised with attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and production planning software.
