Job Purpose Summary To provide manufacturing engineering support to the production floor to meet internal and external customer needs. To identify, analyze, create and implement effective manufacturing processes and procedures. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Prepare and revise manufacturing documents, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM) used to manufacture foam cushions. Evaluate, develop and test potential solutions for in-process pattern laying and cutting problems. Evaluate manufacturability of pattern designs to ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices, quality standards and customer needs. Design and co-ordinate the internal/external manufacture of jigs and fixtures for CNC sewing operation, create CNC programs and test process. Training will be given. Oversee manufacturing first articles to ensure the manufacturing team can make the parts to drawing/customer specification. Evaluate, record and update sewing standards, create work instructions if required. Undertake work studies. Make suggestions and incorporate changes to improve the workflow in the production cells. Introduce and help maintain lean manufacturing / 6S principles. Job Requirements Education Required – HNC/HND or Degree in engineering (mechanical, manufacturing, industrial) or related discipline.
