The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join a high-performing team. This is a pivotal role that will act as the bridge between the Commercial (Quantity Surveying) team, Legal Counsel, and external consultants. You will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and managing a wide range of contracts, primarily for subcontracted consultancy and contracting services—including civil works, specialist M&E packages, and design services.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in commercial, legal, or project management, with a deep understanding of NEC contracts and experience managing contracts valued in the tens of millions.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for subcontractors, consultants, and service providers (primarily NEC-based).
- Act as the central point of coordination between the commercial team, legal team, and external advisors.
- Ensure contracts are commercially sound, legally compliant, and aligned with project delivery objectives.
- Support procurement and project teams in contract strategy, risk management, and dispute resolution.
- Maintain contract documentation and ensure compliance with internal governance processes.
- Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on contractual matters and best practices.
About You
- Proven experience in a contracts management role within the energy, infrastructure, or construction sectors.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4), particularly for design and build, consultancy, civil works, and M&E services.
- Background in commercial management, law, or project delivery with a strong contractual focus.
- Demonstrable experience drafting and negotiating high-value contracts (£10M+).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented, commercially astute, and confident working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
