- You will be an either an experienced lawyer or newly qualified solicitor with a desire to make a real difference to the communities of Merseyside.
- The Legal Services Department provides legal advice and representation to the Chief Constable and includes operational advice and orders and commercial law.
- You will be a committed team player and provide our in-house clients with an excellent service in a demanding environment. You will have excellent communication and analytical skills, be able to manage a full, varied, caseload and undertake advocacy at the appropriate level. You will also provide ad hoc advice across the Organisation as required.
- Sound judgement, good organisation working habits and a can-do attitude with a flexible approach is essential. A proven track record of handling varied and sensitive matters along with an understanding of the requirements of a Police Organisation and Insurers is desirable.
- This unique role will join our Operations team who provide real time advice to officers and staff across the full range of operational policing areas such as the use of police powers, Proceeds of Crime Act applications, use of Civil Preventative Orders to protect the public from Domestic Violence Modern Slavery, Anti-Social behaviour, Stalking and Sexual Offences and. Ideally you will have advocacy experience, preferably in the magistrates in respect of civil applications.
