Where possible, we support a working pattern that suits your lifestyle and helps you reach your ambitions.Primary Purpose of the Role:The primary purpose of this position is to work as part of a project team to implement an Integration and Test plan.As an Integration and Test Engineer you will focus on the ‘right hand side of the V’ to deliver solutions to customers in our Civil and Military domains.Key Interactions:The job-holder will work closely with all members of the Bid/Product/Project team, especially the Integration and Test Manager, Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM), Project Design Authority (PDA), Architect and System Engineers, as well as potentially the customer and end user communities.Key Responsibilities:Support definition of Integration and Test strategy and generation of associated estimates and schedulePropose Integration and Test methods, acceptance criteria and manage their implementationClear and timely communication of design non-compliances to the team and wider internal/external stakeholdersLead Integration and Test activities either on-site at Crawley or at the customer’s premises to deliver the evidence of compliance with requirementsPrepare System Integration and Test activitiesAnalyse test results and/or data and produce technical reportsHighlight any technical risk associated with the Integration and Test phase to the EDM and PDA, proposing any suitable actions to mitigate and manage Integration and Test risksLiaise with the PDA and Architect to ensure that Integration and Test is in line with the design and is compliant with all requirementsEssential Skills & Experience:Minimum 4 years of experience in an Integration and Test role on complex system development/integrationGood understanding of Integration and Test strategies and philosophiesDetailed knowledge of the various system lifecycles.Experience of continuous integration and test activitiesExperience of formal verification or validation activitiesExperience of Acceptance Testing for UK Defence suppliers and customers – Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), sell-off against requirements, Verification Cross Reference Index (VCRI) etc.Good technical writing skills, excellent communication and analytical skills; excellent command of the English language, both written and oralAn effective team player who can interface at all levels across the organisationAble to operate successfully in a multi-cultural environment, working effectively with teams distributed across different sites/countriesSelf-starter, must be able to perform job responsibilities with minimal directionStrong organisational and team working skillsExcellent customer relationship skillsUse of DOORS, Polarion, JIRA and Vivaldi or other Test ToolsDesirable Skills & Experience:Training and/or Simulation domain knowledge and experienceEssential Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Science subjectSpecial Requirements:Ability to travel in the UK and internationallySecurity Clearance Requirements:Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions.
