Discover your opportunities at Yale!Salary Range: $65,500.00 – $123,550.00OverviewUnder the direction of the Associate Director of Research and reporting to the Senior Research Finance Manager for the Integrated Business Office (IBO), the Post-Award Grant Manager will support the surgical specialty departments at Yale School of Medicine, focusing on Obstetrics & Gynecology and Urology. This position oversees a team of Post-Award Financial Analysts and C&T staff, providing technical guidance and acting as a liaison between Principal Investigators (PIs) and the post-award analyst team. The role involves delivering expert analytical and financial services, optimizing research fund use, and ensuring compliance across awards within an assigned departmental portfolio.The manager will oversee non-sponsored research accounts, conduct complex financial modeling, develop resource plans, and foster partnerships with faculty, OSP, and department administrators. The role includes mitigating compliance risks, addressing internal control issues, and ensuring high client satisfaction through strong relationship management.Required Skills and AbilitiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to analyze data and resolve complex issues with sound judgment.Proactive, resourceful strategic thinker capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Superior customer service skills; ability to proactively engage clients.Proficiency in MS Excel, database query tools, and system management with attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.Proven supervisory experience, including performance management, coaching, and fostering team collaboration.Preferred Education, Experience, and SkillsExperience with Grants & Contract Administration, Workday Financials, Yale Budgeting Tool (YBT), and other university financial tools. Background as an accountant, grant administrator, or financial professional is preferred.Principal ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement grant management policies in compliance with university, NIH, and federal guidelines.Provide detailed financial reports, improve financial reporting processes, and advise faculty on fiscal responsibility.Manage a team of Portfolio Analysts, including hiring, training, and performance management.Standardize budget and financial processes for efficiency and quality.Maintain knowledge of university finance and budgeting policies to ensure effective financial management.Advise faculty on budgetary issues related to funding and staffing.Ensure compliance with effort reporting, certifications, cost transfers, audits, and reviews.Implement solutions to routine and complex problems, establishing university-wide policies for post-award administration.Provide training to faculty and staff on grant management functions.Serve as backup to Post Award staff.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Education and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree and five years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Background Check RequirementsPre-employment background screening required, including motor vehicle, DOT certification, drug testing, and credit checks as applicable.Health RequirementsCertain positions may require vaccinations, tests, or examinations per law, regulation, or university policy.Posting DisclaimerSalary offers depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, and market conditions.
