Our digital, data and technology solutions are used by globally recognised public and private sector brands operating in a variety of sectors including Civil Defence, Healthcare, Sustainable Environment and Land Asset Management, and Digital Democracy.
Position
As a User-Centered Design Consultant, you will be excited by the opportunity to:
- Work across a mixture of private and public sector projects, always with the aim of creating innovative solutions and user journeys that put the user at the centre of the design process
- Work collaboratively across multiple disciplines including user research, service design, content design and interaction design
- Be an advocate for user needs with internal and client teams and wider stakeholders
- Work with a range of clients in a consultancy setting with a technology focus
- Think holistically across all aspects of a user journey, for all users, in a way that aligns with business goals
- Work on projects throughout the delivery lifecycle (discovery through to live), adapting your methods to each project phase
- Work with our technical consultants and developers to embed a user centred approach whilst also aligning with and understanding technical constraints
- Develop Informed’s UCD thinking, practice and methods – to maintain our position at the forefront of digital transformation
- Mentor and coach graduates and early-career colleagues to strengthen our community of practice, building for our future success
Requirements
- Experience of working in a user centred design team in a consultancy, agency or in-house setting.
- Skills in one or more UCD disciplines preferably service design or interaction design.
- Knowledge of user centred design principles, best practice and artefacts e.g prototypes, journey maps, personas
- Experience working with teams and/or clients to embed user centred design practices
- Ability to adapt and identify appropriate UCD processes and methods to a variety of environments
- Ability to empathise with different types of users and build a clear understanding of their perspectives
- Ability to take an innovative and creative approach to problem solving
- Awareness of software development lifecycle and ability to apply UCD methods in a technology focussed environment
- A degree qualification, or equivalent experience in a related discipline
- Excellent communication skills, to work with colleagues and senior client stakeholders – understanding how best to position findings to communicate with different levels of seniority and experience
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines within a fast-paced and agile environment
- Excellent work planning capabilities and time management skills
- Ability to balance conflicting deadlines and priorities
- A high attention to detail
