CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Resident Engineer. The Resident Engineer is responsible for ensuring all construction is executed in accordance with contract documents and Rhode Island Department of Transportation regulations. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage day-to-day construction oversight, monitor contractor performance, schedule, responsiveness and effectiveness.
- Ensure construction is executed in accordance with the contract documents, RIDOT, and FHWA regulations.
- Manage contractor to maintain project cost, schedule, and quality.
- Manage inspection staff and the delivery of daily inspection reports in accordance with RIDOT requirements.
- Act as liaison to design staff to respond to Contractor RFI\’s and review of shop drawings.
- Provide technical review of construction plans and specifications and project changes for constructability and practicality.
- Manage the contractor payment process and recommend adjustments as required to monitor the contractor.
OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Provide positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company.
- Other duties which may be required which are commensurate with the position.

- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a closely related field.
- Minimum 7 years of Resident Engineering or related experience preferably with a State Department of Transportation OR Minimum 5 years with Engineer in Training certification OR Minimum 1 year with Current RI PE license.
- Proficiency with Headlight and/or Bluebeam software preferred.
- Must be able to work in the United States to apply.
