Overview
Since the establishment of our Leeds office nearly 40 years ago, Curtins has re-shaped and enhanced the skyline of towns and cities in the Yorkshire Region. Our Leeds office is looking for an energetic, self-motivated and enthusiastic team leader at Principal Engineer or Associate Level who embraces technical challenges and also contributes positively to the office and wider business. We’re looking for someone who sees the value and potential in people and who is prepared to nurture individuals to bring out their very best. We’ve built a strong team in our Leeds office and continue to deliver a range of schemes in Healthcare, Residential, Leisure, Commercial mixed use, Schools and Higher Education.

Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a team of up to 8 people and lead that team in the delivery of a portfolio of projects.
- Be responsible for people management (colleagues and clients where appropriate), financial management, quality and project management within the team.
- Contribute towards developing and delivering our business strategies in the Leeds office and, where appropriate, the wider business; drive innovation and best practice.
- Engage in Business Development through the development of a network of clients and partners.
- Lead multi-disciplinary design projects, including developing design delivery programmes with an understanding of project finances.
- Be a competent leader in client meetings, collaborating with clients, partners and the wider project team to develop viable, sustainable and cost-effective design solutions.
- Work on a range of high-profile, technically demanding and award-winning building and urban regeneration projects in Leeds and Yorkshire.
Qualifications
- You’ll be a chartered engineer (or actively working towards this under a recognised professional institution training pathway if at Principal Engineer level).
- Experience leading a team of engineers and technicians in delivering a wide range of projects; ability to inspire a team to develop to their full potential.
- Ability to explain ideas and solutions clearly to project teams and clients; actively seek new opportunities for the business and your team.
- Demonstrates sound judgment in decision-making, a commitment to continuous improvement, and recognition of others’ contributions.
