The role is acting Asbestos Responsible Person β undertaking the asbestos management tasks required to achieve and maintain compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations and our asbestos standards. The role will cover asbestos management across all disciplines: Buildings, structures and lineside assets.
Knowledge of rail environment is not essential. Your ability to undertake asbestos management tasks is the main point of the role.
Reporting to the Principal Asbestos Engineer the role will involve undertaking tasks as delegated to achieve asbestos compliance. Examples of such tasks will include:
- Maintaining asbestos records
- Writing remits and specifications for surveys and remediation
- Undertaking site visits
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Providing asbestos technical support
- One off compliance improvement projects
The person undertaking the role will be an experienced asbestos professional of at least 10 years with expertise in the following areas:
- Asbestos compliance
- Ancillary legislation and guidance such as CDM
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
Essential
- Hold BOHS P405 Qualification β Management of Asbestos in buildings (S301 or Certificate of Competence will be accepted in lieu of the P405)
- Experience of undertaking/managing asbestos surveys and remediation
- Able to use IT systems
