Job Overview Part Time 22.2 hours per week We are seeking to appoint an experienced health and safety professional to work as an integral member of a busy, supportive and established team. The role will nominally be based in Exeter however flexible working and some working from home is encouraged. The role will require travel throughout Devon to a broad range of teams and establishments.Responsibilities Audit and review health and safety policies and guidance across multiple sites.Interpret legislation and guidance to provide appropriate advice to services and establishments.Develop and deliver in‐house and externally accredited training, both face to face and remotely.Carry out significant accident investigations and report findings.Engage with individuals and groups across all levels of the organisation, including directors and management teams.Qualifications Hold the NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and be CMIOSH or actively working towards CMIOSH.Good post‐qualification experience and sound knowledge of current H&S legislation.Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with all levels of the organisation.Significant experience with premise H&S issues, including the management of asbestos and legionella across multi‐site organisations, including educational establishments, is an advantage.Good understanding of Office 365.Application Details Interview Date: Week beginning 09/02/2026Contact Simon Bates on 01392 381863 or email healthandsafety@devon.gov.uk.Regretfully we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
