JOB TITLE: Technical Officer – British Woodworking Federation

REPORTING TO: Technical Director

SALARY: Up to £48,000 depending on experience + benefits

HOMEBASED: With travel expected across the UK and to the BWF Offices

At a time when the industry is facing many regulatory changes, advice and guidance remains high on the federations agenda. The Technical Officer will work closely with the Technical Director and the wider BWF team ensuring members can gain help and advice covering several core key areas such as technical help, health and safety and regulatory requirements as well as representing the federation with many of our external stakeholders.

The Technical Officer is responsible for the BWF Code of Conduct which sets out the principles of good practice for a woodworking or joinery business. The Code represents the standard to which all members have committed themselves to achieving. Therefore, this highly rewarding role is the critical liaison point between new and existing members of the BWF, the BWF team, our stakeholders, our regulators and also in establishing new programmes and services.

This is a hands-on role that will require knowledge of building relationships, account management combined with some knowledge of health and safety in a timber manufacturing environment and some understanding of auditing processes.
