About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Process Analyst to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 5-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Barnsley.
Our client is seeking skilled Business Analyst with hands-on experience in hardware demise (decommissioning) projects to support the planning and execution of hardware retirement initiatives across the organisation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that legacy hardware is identified, decommissioned, and disposed of in a secure and compliant manner.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse, and document business requirements related to hardware decommissioning activities
- Collaborate with technical and infrastructure teams to plan and coordinate hardware retirement tasks
- Analyse hardware inventory data to identify assets eligible for demise and track decommissioning progress
- Ensure adherence to data security standards and disposal regulations throughout the retirement process
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations, timelines, and status updates
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of hardware lifecycle and demise processes
About You
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Business Analyst supporting IT infrastructure or hardware-related projects
- Direct experience with hardware demise or decommissioning initiatives
- Strong understanding of IT asset management principles, tools, and inventory databases
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights
- Strong documentation and communication skills, capable of bridging technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and departments
