Job Overview
Healthcare Professionals are needed to provide medical services to supplement the medical staff in support of the Military Treatment Facilities and Health Clinics within US Army Medical Command, Regional Health Command Europe and for other Department of Defense (DoD) agencies including US Navy and US Air Forces in Europe.
Qualifications
- Degree: Certificate.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent with additional training or education in movement therapy, specifically yoga therapy; supplemented with one (1) year of related experience in an accredited health care hospital which results in familiarity with and knowledge of hospital or clinic routines
- Certification: Obtain a certification in Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association and/or the Red Cross approved training program prior to contract start date.
- Experience: Provide documentation and references showing at least 1 years of experience in a clinical setting within the last 3 years.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Works with individuals and groups to provide movement instruction such as yoga, tai chi, qigong, focused on relieving pain, stress, and poor circulation and enhancing strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular health.
- Works collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team to treat patients with pain and recommend a multimodal pain management treatment plan that may incorporate IM treatment modalities.
- Actively participates in educational efforts to improve pain management education of healthcare professionals, as well as individuals with pain and their family members.
- Participates in telemedicine didactic teaching sessions and interdisciplinary case presentations in order to provide remote support to remote military medical facilities.
- Assists with coordination of curricula for patients and healthcare professionals.
- Adapts yoga protocols and treatment approach to match patient ability and physical limitations.
- Develops yoga plans for home-based practice between sessions.
- Works within setting of a functional restoration program.
- Works under supervision of integrative modalities coordinator or rehabilitation supervisor.
- Provides input to the interdisciplinary team to determine when participants have attained optimal improvement from IM therapies and are ready to transition to self-management.
DOCPER/SOFA/Logistical Support Status
This position is eligible for support under NATO Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) supplemental agreement articles 72 or 73.
