Advert We have an exciting permanent opportunity to join our multidisciplinary service in the role of Rehabilitation & Mobility Officer for Visual Impairment. As part of this role you will be responsible for undertaking assessments for people with sensory impairments and will identify, deliver and evaluate professional rehabilitation interventions for individuals with a Visual Impairment to enhance their skills and confidence to maximise their independence. We need someone who has a Diploma of Higher Education in Rehabilitation Studies (VI), or Foundation Degree in Rehabilitation (VI). It is important that you are flexible, motivated and have the ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative. You will have excellent communication skills to effectively build relations with a range of stakeholders. Ideally the successful post holder will also have previous experience in a social care setting or rehabilitation work within the 3rd Sector. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with children and protected adults. In addition to this, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.
