Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will inspire and educate students in the field of food technology, equipping them with essential skills in nutrition, food preparation, and safety. You will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons that foster creativity, critical thinking, and a love for culinary arts. Key Responsibilities 1. Curriculum Delivery: * Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in food technology that align with the school’s curriculum and standards. * Incorporate practical and theoretical components to create a balanced learning experience. 2. Classroom Management: * Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated and supported. * Maintain high standards of behavior and discipline in the classroom and kitchen facilities. 3. Practical Skills Development: * Teach students essential culinary skills, including food preparation, presentation, and kitchen hygiene. * Encourage creativity in recipe development and meal planning. 4. Health and Safety Compliance: * Ensure all practical activities comply with health and safety regulations. * Conduct risk assessments for practical lessons and maintain a safe working environment. 5. Assessment and Feedback: * Monitor and assess student progress through assignments, tests, and practical evaluations. 6. Resource Management: * Manage and maintain kitchen equipment, tools, and materials. * Ensure adequate stock of ingredients and supplies for practical lessons. 7. Collaboration: * Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and refine the food technology curriculum. 8. Professional Development: * Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in food technology and education. Qualifications and Experience * Education: A degree or equivalent qualification in Food Technology, Nutrition, Home Economics, or a related field. * Teaching Qualification: A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) is highly desirable. * Experience: Previous teaching experience in food technology or a similar subject is preferred. * Skills: * Strong knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and kitchen safety. * Excellent communication and organizational skills. * Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
