Job Summary

As an Account Manager, you will be the key day-to-day contact for clients, managing relationships, overseeing medium-sized projects, coaching junior team members, and ensuring timely delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Act as day-to-day client contact: deliver status updates, respond to queries, share recommendations, manage expectations, and communicate specifications to the team.
  • Manage the day-to-day account processes: lead internal meetings, review content, delegate tasks, and monitor the status of all projects.
  • Own medium-sized client projects, delivering to high standards within budget and approved timelines.
  • Understand client needs and preferences, building an awareness of their strategy and brand.
  • Develop written deliverables, review junior work, and ensure accuracy before senior review.
  • Identify growth opportunities, share new ideas, and support new business efforts (research, pitches, brainstorming).
  • Co-guide junior team members, supervise, coach, delegate, and inspire growth.
  • Assist with financial management: update Salesforce opportunities, invoicing, forecasting, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Complete timesheets, expense claims, and review other project timesheets as needed.
  • Participate in internal initiatives that enrich the Medical Communications team and the wider Real Chemistry culture.
  • Engage with industry developments, share insights, and raise your internal profile.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in a scientific subject.
  • Highly organized with strong multitasking, prioritisation and detail-orientated.
  • Independent thinker, yet a team player who mentors junior staff.
  • Experience delegating tasks and managing timelines.
  • Confident in communicating with managers when deadlines may not be met or issues arise.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, delivering on client requests on time and within budget.
  • Ability to develop project scopes and vendor contracts.
  • Excellent business communication, both informal and formal, written and oral.
  • High energy and adaptable to fast-paced, evolving environments.
