Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Location: Henleaze Contract Type: Temporary – All of Term 5 Working Hours: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:40 PM) Role Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide one-to-one support for two students with special educational needs during Term 5. The successful candidate will work closely with a Year 6 student diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and a Year 3 student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ensuring they receive tailored assistance to enhance their educational experience. Key Responsibilities: – Provide individualised support to the Year 6 student with ADHD and the Year 3 student with ASD, adapting strategies to meet their unique learning requirements. – Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to their ongoing development. – Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify and adapt classroom activities, ensuring accessibility and engagement for the supported students. – Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the students\’ social, emotional, and academic growth. – Monitor and record the students\’ progress, providing regular feedback to teachers, parents, and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO). – Maintain confidentiality and uphold the school\’s safeguarding policies at all times. Person Specification: Essential: – Proven experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting. – Demonstrated experience supporting children with ADHD and ASD, with a strong understanding of associated strategies and interventions. – Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take initiative when required. – Commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive approach to learning new skills.
