Were recruiting on behalf of a fantastic charity for an experienced Finance Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract . This is an exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven organisation that puts people at the heart of what they do.
The Role
You’ll lead on all aspects of payroll, ensuring accurate and timely monthly processing, while working closely with HR and external payroll providers. You’ll proactively identify improvements to payroll systems and efficiencies, contributing to a 5-star finance function.
In addition to payroll, you’ll prepare first-draft management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintain cashflow forecasts. Year-end statutory account preparation will also be a key part of your remit, working collaboratively within the wider finance team.
You will manage and develop the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant through regular supervision, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Reporting into the Head of Finance, you’ll also support budget holders by providing timely, accurate financial information.
About You
You’ll bring significant payroll experience, ideally with knowledge of Cascade/IRIS and Sage Intacct. You’ll be a confident user of Excel, capable of analysing complex data and providing actionable insights. A full accounting qualification (or working towards one) is desirable, and experience managing people is essential. Experience of working in the charity sector would be beneficial.
