Salary: From £31,700 – £34,800 (inclusive of sleeps)

About the Role

As a Young Person Mentor, youll play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive home environment for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. No two days are the same youll be there through fun, challenges, growth and reflection, helping young people thrive.

Youll work closely with senior leaders and contribute to a therapeutic care model, using electronic systems to document progress, support care plans, and ensure the highest standards of compliance and care delivery.

  • Enjoy fun and laughter, but can also offer calm, emotional support.

  • Can multitask from cooking for hungry teens to engaging in games or conversations.

  • Are willing to be creative, playful, or even get a makeover courtesy of the young people!

  • Embrace difference, value diversity, and bring unique interests to share.

This role also involves contributing to care planning, attending regular reviews, and capturing progress so attention to detail and good communication skills are key.

The Application Process

After passing initial screening, shortlisted candidates will be invited to a unique first-stage interview. This includes:

  • A 30-minute assessment

  • A virtual reality experience

  • A panel interview with management
    Final interviews involve a visit to one of the homes and a chance to meet and speak with the young people themselves.
