We have an excellent 9 month contract opportunity for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer who has expert experience of designing and deploying F5 solutions in AWS environments.
Working within a Central Government department, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, migrating and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performance infrastructure solutions, with a particular focus on network and cloud environments.
This role requires expert end to end experience with F5 load balancers, Palo Alto Networks, Check Point firewalls, Zscaler and AWS.
Your key responsibilities will include:
The design, implementation and administration of F5 appliances in AWS environments.
Design, deploy and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security and performance.
Configure and manage network security appliances, particularly Palo Alto and Check Point firewalls in enterprise environments.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI.
Automate infrastructure provisioning using IaC/CaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise systems, networks, and application performance across hybrid environments.
Collaborate with security, development, and operations teams to enforce DevSecOps best practices.
To be considered, you will have:
Extensive hands-on experience with F5 load balancers.
Demonstrable experience designing and implementing F5 solutions.
Strong experience with firewall platforms: Palo Alto Networks and Check Point.
Strong experience in Zscaler
Solid understanding of networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, routing).
Proficiency with AWS services including EC2, ELB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, S3,VPC Lattice, Transit Gateway and VPN.
Practical knowledge of DevOps tools: Git, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Terraform.
Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or equivalent).
Public Sector / Central Government experience is desirable
This contract is inside scope of IR35 and suitable candidates must be eligible for SC clearance and be willing to be vetted for SC clearance. Candidates with BPSS experience can apply.
This department has multiple offices across the UK. Due to the nature of the assignment, you can be based anywhere in the UK, as long as you\’re prepared to work from a local office 2 days per week, with the remaining 3 days working from home.
