Protection Consultant
About the Role
We\’re looking for an enthusiastic and professional Protection Consultant to join our Protection Sales team, working with Independent Financial Advisers (IFA\’s) across the UK to deliver outstanding protection solutions for their clients. As a Protection Consultant, you\’ll play a critical role in supporting a panel of financial advisers with protection planning for their clients. You’ll be a trusted partner and subject matter expert for your panel. A key aspect of this role will be to support, educate and influence.
This will include both new and existing accounts, to acquire new business and maintain profitable business for LV=. You’ll present the LV= Protection proposition, both over the phone and in person (when required), develop new leads, and help advisers to develop their current protection business.
This role is primarily remote, however quarterly office visits to Bournemouth and attendance at some face-to-face adviser events will be required.

• Have experience of working in a targeted/sales-focused role.
• Be comfortable to work independently, prioritise workload in order to meet targets accurately, and be responsible for delivering business requirements within agreed timeframes.
• Be empathetic, and genuinely have our customer\’s best interests at heart.
• Possess strong numerical and literacy skills.
• Competently be able to use computer programmes such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and relevant CRM systems.
• Be self-motivated, with excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Have experience of working within Financial Services (desirable but not essential).
• Be willing to obtain R01 and R05 accreditations within the first 12 months of the role.
Key Responsibilities
• Delivering agreed business goals from an allocated regional panel (to be identified and managed via a business plan, and Key Account plans where appropriate).
• Achieving individual financial targets (where appropriate) for business volumes and premium income, in accordance with the required business mix.
• Ensuring that excellent customer outcomes and conduct risk are adhered to.
• Attending network events and roadshows when required and providing in-person support.
• Developing consistent support from adviser firms, increasing the number of supporting advisers within a firm, and the breadth of protection products sold.
• Exceeding the required minimum levels of operational activity in all key areas (minimum levels are set to achieve core business targets).
• Observing risk events and reporting these to the Risk Manager where appropriate.
• Maintaining and developing your knowledge of the LV= Protection proposition, competitor product offerings, and our competitive positioning.
• Ensuring your own technical and sales skills are up-to-date and strong.
• Achieving and maintaining sales competence and CRM records, in line with LV= standards.
• Working as a member of the Sales team to achieve the corporate goals, placing the achievement of the team and LV= goals above the achievement of personal goals.
• Managing all business dealings (appointments, entertaining, record keeping, etc.) in accordance with LV= compliance procedures.
