HR and Payroll Advisor
Location: East Kent (Hybrid working)
Salary: Circa 36,000 to 40,000/annum – Depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours
Are you an experienced HR Advisor with payroll knowledge looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced environment?
We\’re currently recruiting for an experienced HR and Payroll Advisor to join a well-established and growing organisation. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working within a fast-paced industrial environment and will live within a commutable distance to East Kent. Full right to work in the UK will only be considered.
Key Responsibilities
HR Duties:
- Manage a range of ER casework (e.g. disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability).
- Coach and support managers on people-related issues and employee performance.
- Attend formal HR meetings as the advisor/representative.
- Keep HR systems up to date and maintain accurate records.
- Deliver and support training sessions on HR policy and employment legislation.
- Assist with wider HR projects including wellbeing, culture and employee engagement.
Payroll Duties:
- Administer and prep monthly payroll for up to a large number of employees using a payroll system ready for the payroll company.
- Manage all payroll-related administration including starters, leavers, adjustments and benefits.
- Conduct thorough payroll checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Act as first point of contact for payroll queries, liaising with managers and employees.
About You
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience (essential)
- Experience in a combined HR and payroll position
- Confident managing complex employee relations casework independently
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Proficient using HR systems – ideally Workday
- Background in manufacturing or engineering in a fast-paced industrial environment (preferred)
