Overview
The primary role of the digital field engineer is to provide 2nd/3rd line support services to end users relating to end user compute devices (PCs, Laptops, Mobile Phones, printers etc.), core infrastructure (networking, UPSs, patching etc.) and other digital services such as digital signage, room-based communications etc. You will be a mobile engineer travelling between Trust sites across Essex resolving incidents, undertaking service requests, completing changes and assisting in any equipment refresh programs in line with business agreed SLA\’s. A key responsibility of this post will be to contribute as part of the wider Service Delivery team to meeting client SLA\’s. Taking a flexible approach to meet client expectations and contractual KPIs with both on-site and remote support methods.
Important notes: this role requires a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes. The Trust operates a lease car scheme that you will be applicable for.
Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd/3rd line support to end users for end user compute devices, core infrastructure and other digital services.
- Travel between Trust sites across Essex as a mobile engineer, resolving incidents, undertaking service requests, completing changes and assisting in equipment refresh programs in line with SLAs.
- Contribute to the wider Service Delivery team to meet client SLAs and KPIs using a flexible approach with on-site and remote support.
- Plan and organise day-to-day activities, manage work queues and priorities, and adjust planned work as required by workload or higher-priority calls.
- Install, repair and maintain physical assets and provide training to end users on safe usage.
- Act independently within policies, procedures and guidelines and escalate to management when necessary; manage and resolve calls assigned to them.
- Maintain regular 1:1s and reviews to monitor targets and objectives.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills and significant relevant experience in an IT Service Delivery environment.
- Ability to work in a customer-facing role and a track record of meeting client expectations.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes (leasing scheme available).
- Willingness to provide professional references with business contact information covering the last three years of employment; personal or character references are not accepted.
- DBS check at the start of employment (costs deducted from first salary).
