If you are looking for an opportunity to develop your analytical skills, whilst contributing to the West Midlands Combined Authoritys digital transformation plan, then this may be the perfect role for you. Our newly created Technology and Insight directorate have a brand-new role for a Data Coordinator tocollect, manage, report, analyse and visualise data. You will provide access to data on everything from transport to health and wellbeing, to the environment across the West Midlands. Most importantly, you will use data from across the Combined Authority to help us demonstrate the impact we are having on local communities. As a Data Coordinator, you will manage data provided by internal and external partners. This data is essential to monitor our performance and impact as an organisation, to help us develop and manage our services, and to inform how best we can work with partners and local authorities to deliver a more prosperous and better-connected West Midlands which is fairer, greener and healthier. This role will be the single point of contact for stakeholders and will ensure that teams follow a structured process to improve the quality of the services we provide. Working within a collaborative team, this role comes with progression and provides a gateway into other domains of data management. The team are all about knowledge sharing and upskilling their team, and this opportunity will provide you with regular training sessions, the opportunity to attend annual conferences to learn more about the industry and work closely with STEM ambassadors. The team places a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing and continuous development, providing regular training sessions, access to industry conferences, and the chance to work alongside STEM ambassadors to further enhance your expertise. What you will be doing Make recommendations to develop and improve processes and tools Coordinate the collation of data according to standard definitions, following a data collection procedure to ensure validity and integrity Organise and manage ad-hoc data quality audits and reconciliation exercises Responsible for the timely and accurate setup of data, acting as a data specialist promoting data quality and efficient data practices Contribute to the preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders within the business Assist in the collection of key metrics into the reporting database and check for anomalies Comply with all policies and procedures Whats essential. Sound understanding of data quality controls and processes Strong attention to detail Able to work in a structured method Ability to strongly communicate with stakeholders Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with the wider team Keen problem solver Ability to manage own workload, effectively prioritise and work to deadlines with minimum supervision Proficient across MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel Skills Location.
