Health and Safety Advisor Location: Northern Ireland Job Type: Full-time We are seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join our construction focused client on a large scale long term project in Belfast. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and health of our workforce across various projects, including a flag ship new public project. The ideal candidate will have a robust knowledge of construction methods, as well as safety, health, and environmental legislation. Day-to-day of the role: Provide support, advice, and guidance on health and safety matters to the Project Management team. Promote the company\’s health and safety ethos and culture at all levels within the company and with our subcontractors. Lead and deliver health & safety initiatives and conduct site health, safety & environmental compliance, and behavioural/cultural audits. Investigate accidents, incidents, and high potential observations. Assist with and/or deliver relevant training programmes including induction programmes, toolbox talks, and briefings. Review and update company and subcontractor\’s paperwork, including construction phase plans, method statements, risk assessments, and environment management plans. Prepare information for regular site bulletins, legislation updates, and advisory memos. Be instrumental in encouraging observation reporting and represent the company at relevant industry forums. Required Skills & Qualifications: Professionally qualified within the Health and Safety field (NEBOSH/NCRQ, BSc or MSc in Safety). Minimum of 5 years\’ H&S experience in construction or a related discipline. Minimum of 3 years\’ experience in construction within the water, rail, or highways sector. Holder of CSCS / CSR / Safepass card. Detailed knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation and a sound understanding of construction processes. Strong communication, numeracy, and literacy skills. Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. Desirable: NEBOSH Diploma, experience working directly with site teams, and knowledge of management standards (45001 / HSG65 / Safe-T-Cert).
