Lead Data Warehouse Developer – must have lending or mortgage industry experience Perm or Short Term Contract (ltd company) Salary: Up to £90,000 or contracting day rate Hybrid – 2 days a week in Bracknell A specialist financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Lead Data Warehouse Developer to take ownership of the design, development, and maintenance of its enterprise data warehouse infrastructure. This individual will play a key role in enabling structured reporting, complex analytics, and self-service data capabilities. The role also includes providing technical oversight on data solutions, supporting governance standards, and contributing to the strategic evolution of the data landscape. Key Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end development and maintenance of data warehousing solutions aligned with business objectives. Serve on the on-call support rota, ensuring data availability and compliance with operational resilience standards. Oversee solution delivery to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and data governance principles. Advocate for and embed data security best practices in all data strategies and solutions. Contribute to data governance evolution and promote adherence to standardised data practices across the organisation. Act as a lead stakeholder on business initiatives that impact the data warehouse. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across warehouse and source systems. Maintain and evolve the data dictionary and associated metadata for the warehouse and ETL systems. Mentor and support team members to build a high-performing, resilient data function. Keep up to date with industry developments and maintain relevant technical expertise. Complete all mandatory training within required timelines. Provide ad-hoc support to the data management team as needed. Essential Skills & Experience: Experience working with UK mortgage data/lending data, including new lending, securitisations, and portfolio onboarding/offboarding. Strong background in data warehouse development using: Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL Power BI SSRS, SSIS, SSAS Azure DevOps Performance tuning techniques In-depth, hands-on knowledge of SQL Server and modern data warehousing practices. Proven experience applying the Kimball methodology for data warehouse design. Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and QA standards. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to accurately interpret and translate business requirements into technical solutions. Experience working within Agile development teams. Comprehensive knowledge of the full mortgage data lifecycle from enquiry through redemption. Background in financial services and a working knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g. Consumer Duty, Treating Customers Fairly); training provided as required.
