Future Build have been appointed in the search for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a regional business unit delivering social housing refurbishment and regeneration schemes throughout the Midlands & the North of England. The role will be focusing on leading the commercial elements of the business unit as well as assist with tendering for future works, please see duties below:
1. Commercial and Contract Management
- Lead the commercial team in managing contracts
- Oversee the administration of subcontractor and supplier agreements.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Identify and manage risk and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Cost Planning & Control
- Establish and manage project budgets.
- Oversee cost estimates, cash flows, and cost value reconciliations (CVRs).
- Implement cost control procedures and provide financial forecasts.
3. Team Leadership & Management
- Supervise and mentor a team of quantity surveyors and assistants.
- Allocate resources and workloads effectively.
- Conduct performance reviews and support career development.
4. Client and Stakeholder Communication
- Act as the commercial lead in client meetings.
- Provide regular cost and commercial reports to clients and senior management.
- Resolve commercial issues and disputes.
5. Procurement and Supply Chain Management
- Develop procurement strategies.
- Manage tendering processes and contract award negotiations.
- Ensure value for money from suppliers and subcontractors.
6. Change and Variation Management
- Oversee evaluation and negotiation of variations and claims.
- Maintain records of changes to ensure accurate final accounts.
7. Project Delivery Support
- Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and site managers.
- Ensure commercial and financial goals align with project delivery objectives.
- Support project close-out including final accounts and lessons learned.
8. Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely internal and external reporting.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, legal and health & safety regulations.
- Lead audits and ensure proper documentation
