Payroll Technical Lead (Contract) About us Our client is a reputable local authority known for delivering essential services across the borough. Due to upcoming projects and system upgrades, they are now seeking an experienced Payroll Technical Lead to join their team on a 34 month contract . This role plays a pivotal part in maintaining and improving the payroll systems and processes. This role involves managing monthly payroll runs, statutory reporting, and working closely with Oracle partners and support teams for upgrades and testing. Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end delivery of monthly payroll processes. Ensure accurate and timely submissions of FPS, RTI, and payments to third parties. Manage payroll operations for Lambeth bureau including net pay, deductions, and reporting. Validate statutory returns and employer data submissions. Test Oracle Payroll upgrades and raise technical queries with Oracle Partner. Act as subject matter expert on Oracle Payroll and related systems. About You Are you a driven Payroll professional with deep technical expertise and a history of delivering complex payroll processes in a public sector setting? If so, wed love to hear from you. To succeed in this role, you will need: Strong experience with IT systems, payroll databases, and report-writing tools. Proven track record of effective stakeholder engagement and communication. Experience mentoring colleagues in system usage and process improvements. Either a relevant payroll qualification or substantial payroll experience in a customer-focused organisation. Oracle Payroll experience essential.
