Job Title: Part-Time Bookkeeper (Experienced in Complex VAT & QuickBooks) Location: Aylesbury Employment Type: Part-time (25 hours/week) Salary: Up to £38,000 FTE (Pro-Rated Based on Experience) Are you a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper looking for a flexible part-time opportunity where your expertise in VAT and accounting truly adds value? We\’re working with a successful and growing SME that\’s seeking a capable finance professional to take ownership of its bookkeeping functions. If you\’re confident managing complex VAT systems, processing payroll, and using QuickBooks to keep everything in order—this could be ideal. About the Role Working 25 hours per week, your core responsibilities will include: VAT Management – Lead the VAT function, with a focus on navigating a complex VAT framework. This is not a straightforward VAT setup—so experience and confidence here are essential. Payroll Processing – Handle all aspects of payroll in-house, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. Accounts Maintenance – Manage day-to-day bookkeeping including invoicing, bank reconciliations, receipts and credit control. Year-End Contribution – For those with the relevant experience, you\’ll have the opportunity to support year-end accounts preparation. What We\’re Looking For Solid experience with QuickBooks —you\’ll be using it daily. A strong understanding of VAT, including non-standard or multi-layered VAT systems (e.g. partial exemption, cross-border complexities). Prior experience with payroll and credit control .
