Your new company We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated experienced lawyer to join our client\’s Housing Litigation team, based in Worcester. The team consists of 10 professionals handling pre-action and litigated claims, including housing conditions/disrepair, possession and injunctions. This role sits within the wider Legal & Governance Department of Corporate Services. You will be able to work in a hybrid manner, with a balance of home and office working (3 days in the office/2 days at home if desired). Your new role As a lawyer within the Housing Litigation team, your key responsibilities will include:Managing a caseload of housing management litigated claims, including possession claims, injunction applications, and housing conditions issued claims.Providing expert advice on housing matters to the business.Supporting the senior team within Legal Services in overseeing the in-house Housing team.Delivering legal services cost-effectively while minimising risk to the Group.Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders as the \”go-to\” person for housing legal matters.What you\’ll need to succeed Our client is happy to consider applications from candidates in private practice, however experience of working in a local authority and/or a housing authority would be beneficial. To be successful in this role, you will need:Qualification as a Solicitor (PQE 5+) or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.In-depth knowledge of housing law and civil procedure rules.The ability to apply relevant legal principles to solve issues.Excellent drafting skills for statements of case and witness statements.Strong research skills.Civil litigation experience and a strong understanding of civil procedure rules and fast track.Proficiency in Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.What you\’ll get in return Our client offers an attractive employment package that supports your physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
