People Advisor – Cultural Arts

6 to 9-Month FTC | Immediate Start | London-Based

2 – 3 days onsite

£40K FT or £40K over 4 days dependant on experience

We’re partnering with a vibrant and inspiring Cultural Arts organisation to find them a brilliant People Advisor to join their small but mighty People team. This is your chance to make an impact in a dynamic, creative environment.

Supporting a passionate workforce of 280+ staff and freelancers, you’ll be the go-to HR Advisor on the ground in London. This is a hands-on role with real variety – ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, purpose-driven settings.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Acting as a true People Advisor across the board – from coaching managers through sensitive ER matters (think absences, PIPs, disciplinaries & grievances) to supporting conflict resolution and maintaining a positive culture.
  • Training & Development : Collaborate with the L&D Manager to empower new and seasoned managers with impactful training and practical tools.
  • Recruitment Support : Partner with the Recruitment Lead to help attract the best talent – including managing freelance hiring at scale.
  • Be the eyes, ears, and heart of the People team on-site – building strong relationships, offering sound advice, and keeping things running smoothly.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A seasoned HR Advisor with a solid grounding in ER casework and generalist support – ideally from a similar-sized company (150+ headcount).
  • Comfortable working autonomously – you’re proactive, solutions-focused, and know how to get things done without needing to be micro-managed.
  • A true people person – empathetic, approachable, and confident building trust with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience working in the arts, creative or freelance-heavy environment is a big plus!
