Quantity Surveyor – NEC Civil Engineering (Contractor-Facing Role)
Location: Suffolk (2–3 Days Onsite) | Hybrid Working

Work with a Specialist Consultancy Delivering for Tier 1 Contractors
We’re working with a small but fast-growing and highly respected consultancy that partners closely with Tier 1 contractors on major UK infrastructure projects. They’re now looking to bring on board an experienced Quantity Surveyor who understands the demands of working in contractor-side environments and can add immediate value to commercial and change processes.
You’ll be part of a tight-knit consultancy team, but work day-to-day within contractor delivery teams—so you’ll need to be confident, proactive, and commercially sharp.
What You\’ll Be Doing
You’ll support a major civil engineering programme by leading key commercial activities and managing NEC change processes in fast-paced project environments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing and managing NEC3/NEC4 compensation events, early warnings, and risk provisions
- Working with planning teams (Primavera P6) to evaluate programme impacts and delays
- Supporting subcontractor engagements and validating change/entitlement
- Managing cost forecasts,change registers, and cash flow reporting
- Contributing to commercial strategy, dispute avoidance, and resolution support
What We\’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will be experienced in contractor-side commercial delivery, even if currently in a consultancy role.
Essential skills and experience:
- Good working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Previous work on major infrastructure, rail, or civil engineering projects
- Background working directly for contractors, or consultancies supporting contractors
- Understanding of planning tools and outputs (e.g., Primavera P6 schedules)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work confidently in live delivery environments
