Technical Assistant
We are seeking a talented individual to join a successful and growing business which supplies both own label and branded products to the UK’s leading supermarkets, wholesalers, foodservice and manufacturing customers.
About the Technical Assistant job
The purpose of your role will be to help the Technical Team with tasks related to food safety, quality, and legal requirements. This support helps in keeping good relationships with the company’s customers and suppliers.
Key tasks
- Complete product specifications on retailer online platforms.
- Set up taste tests and benchmarking, review packaging artwork to make sure information is correct and legal and help with packaging returns.
- Help manage the quality system, support internal audits, and make sure everything is lined up for BRC certification.
- Fill out product details on retailer websites, answer customer/supplier forms, and create product quality sheets with photos and taste notes.
- Look into customer complaints, put together reports for retailers, and take care of general admin tasks.
About You
- The successful candidate shall have a degree in Food Science, Food Technology or similar.
- Placement experience in a similar role within a food manufacturer or retailer would be an advantage.

The Technical Assistant job (ref:8919) is paying £26,000 to £28,000 according to your experience.
The site is based in Berkshire and is commutable from Ascot, Slough, Maidenhead, Wokingham, Staines, Farnborough and Reading, Bracknell and surrounding areas.
The package includes 1 day a week working from home (after successful 3-month probation) and 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
