We are seeking a Trainee Animal Technician for our client located in Oxford. This full-time, permanent position which offers a starting salary of £22,308 and is available for an immediate start. As a Trainee Animal Technician, you are responsible for the health and welfare of the animals in the laboratory. Key Responsibilities: * Record keeping and assisting with regulated procedures as and when require * Ensure animal welfare is up to date and any concerns reported to the NACWO * To follow the clients Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) * Basic husbandry tasks of the animals including feeding and watering of the animals, health checks, cage cleaning and washing and taking care of animal nutrition * Cleaning of equipment and facilities which will include the use of power washes * Preparing equipment for the next use Job Requirements: * Experience working and caring for animals * Husbandry experience with rodents (preferred) * Previous experience with handling mice and rats would be beneficial * At least 6 months experience working in a research facility would be beneficial * Animal care management certificate or similar (preferred) If you would like to progress your career working with animals, then do not wait and apply now
