We are working with one of the largest financial services organisations across Asia, which has a strong and growing presence throughout Europe.
The legal team is now looking for a junior lawyer with financial services regulatory experience to sit with the EMEA regulatory team for a 12-month maternity cover role.
The successful candidate will engage with a broad diet of work, encompassing a wide variety of non-contentious and contentious regulatory matters such as firm-wide regulatory strategy, supporting litigation (if necessary) and imparting regulatory advice on finance and commercial documentation to the business.
More specifically, the successful candidate will:
- Advise on βcoreβ banking regulations e.g. MiFID, EMIR, GDPR;
- Deal with cross border licensing, competition and investigations;
- Deliver training and guidance notes across EMEA and Asia on relevant English law regulatory matters;
- Assist with firm-wide projects from a regulatory and strategic perspective, when necessary.
We are looking for:
- A qualified lawyer;
- Sell-side regulatory experience, which at a minimum, may be a training seat in financial services regulation, or experience in contentious or non-contentious banking regulation;
- A demonstrable desire to acquire a broad and varied regulatory role.
This is a fairly rare opportunity for a lawyer with a passion for financial services regulation to sit in an exceptionally diverse in-house role. The position would suit ambitious candidates who can utilise support and training (which will be given from day one) to forge strong relationships across all levels of the bank, both in the UK and internationally.
This team enjoys a flexible and generous hybrid working policy, a very healthy work-life balance and a competitive daily rate of pay.
