Manchester on-site with occasional home working
This is a high-growth consultancy group with significant private investment and big ambitions. Over the last 18 months, they’ve been on an acquisition trail bringing together specialist services businesses under one roof, creating a 200-strong team delivering project management, consultancy and specialist services expertise to high profile UK best brands.
This is a business in transformation. With entrepreneurial energy and corporate discipline, they’re scaling fast, embedding consistent people practices, and shaping a culture where sustainability, innovation, and fun sit at the heart of what they do.
They’re looking for an HR Manager to be the number two to the Chief People Officer – the operational driver who turns people strategy into reality.
This isn’t a Head of HR role. It isn’t a BP role either. It’s the chance to own HR operations across the group and leave your mark on a business that’s still shaping its identity.
Key responsibilities
- Leading the implementation of a new HR system across disparate businesses
- Harmonising policies, procedures, and terms & conditions into a consistent framework
- Supporting managers with challenging employee relations cases, offering pragmatic solutions
- Acting as a trusted advisor day-to-day while keeping us compliant and agile
- Injecting structure, credibility, and a sense of fun into our growing culture
Who they are looking for
You are a strong HR generalist at Manager level, ideally CIPD qualified with a solid grounding in a corporate environment and the ability to bring together best practice and rigour.
Someone who is hands-on, pragmatic, and resilient – who thrives in fast-paced, evolving businesses, and can balance between problem-solver and culture-shaper – steadying the ship when needed but never afraid to make work more human and enjoyable.
Given where they are in their growth journey, this role requires a consistent on-site presence — five days a week in our Manchester office, with regular travel to other UK locations. There could be consideration for ad hoc home working.
This is a genuine opportunity to shape HR in a business that’s investing heavily in its people and future.
You’ll get a front-row seat in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment alongside the scope to build HR foundations properly – from systems to policies to culture. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to be the CPO’s right hand, delivering real impact across the business, and visibility, influence and the ability to leave a lasting legacy as the business scales.
If you’re ready to roll your sleeves up, blend corporate discipline with entrepreneurial spirit, and make HR the enabler – we want to hear from you.
