Studio Details:
We are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented Job Captain & Building Regulations Principal Designer with specialised experience in hotel interior design and architecture to join our growing Hospitality Studio (EMEA) in London. Working under the general supervision of a Senior Designer or Project Manager, the Job captain & Building Regulations Principal Designer provides design support primarily in project administration, design development, and contract documents.
Job Responsibilities
- Reviewing CDs to ensure compliance with firm standards, mechanical and building systems, codes, and ADA requirements, inclusive of IA\’s QAQC policy.
- Coordinating consultants\’ work to ensure timely submission of documents.
- Coordinating all engineering work to ensure compliance with the design solution.
- Managing contract documents and contract administration within established budgets.
- Coordinates with Senior technical staff and design staff to provide technical solutions for design dilemmas
- Be the appointed Building Regulation Principal Designer designate for hotel projects within the UK.
Education
- Graduate of an accredited architecture school.
- 7+ yearsβ experience producing commercial interior design projects.
Work Experience & Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Hotel interior architecture and/or design industry, including a working knowledge of equipment and materials, space requirements, and design standards and principles.
- Advanced Revit skills and AutoCAD/ADT.
- Extensive contract administration knowledge, including completion of contract documents.
- Vast knowledge of building systems, UK Building Regulations, Part M and DDA requirements.
- Sound documentation and field observation skills
